About Us

Government Medical College, Anantnag has completed six years of dedicated service in medical education. Since the first batch of MBBS students joined in 2019, the college has grown to accommodate five batches of MBBS students, DNB residents, senior and junior residents, interns, nursing, and paramedical students. As per National Medical Commission (NMC) notification, the college now has an intake of 150 MBBS students, has introduced postgraduate (PG) courses, and offers internships for MBBS, BAMS, BPT, and allied health students, reflecting its expanding academic and training capacity. The college imparts quality medical education in line with Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) guidelines, 2019, with the Academic Section coordinating training programs, student affairs, curriculum development, research, and innovations in medical education. A formal Code of Conduct ensures fairness and transparency, while the Academic Section, supported by a dedicated administrative team, manages core academic activities, syllabus, schedules, and planners, fostering a structured, efficient, and student-centric learning environment.
